Point of Care CME

Saint Thomas Health is pleased to offer Internet Point of Care credit. Internet Point of Care (POC) is a certified CME activity in which a physician engages in self-directed, online learning on topics relevant to their clinical practice. Learning for this activity includes an electronic reflective process within the available medical resources on the library website in which a physician will document their clinical question and the application to practice.

As a practicing physician, you are likely already performing clinical-based question searches as you seek evidence-based practice recommendations and then appropriately apply them to your patient. Now you can receive POC CME credit for doing so through a structured format that ensures that you have optimally utilized your learning and application skills, while also recording these practice application related search sessions. The estimated time to complete the CME requirements associated with your clinical searches is 2 minutes.  Each search and reflection is accredited for 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. The AMA allows for a maximum of 40 searches per calendar year.

Objectives:

By the end of this activity, the participant should be able to:

       1. Identify practice-based knowledge needs
       2. Discover new information related to clinical practice
       3. Translate knowledge into professional practice
